You may recall that resume your high school teacher had you design in the twelfth grade. It was great; you had many activities, sports, volunteer work and other items of interest to include. Remember all those things you were involved in? Fast forward a couple of years and you will possibly find yourself in a class here on campus that has a similar requirement, that ole resume again. But wait, you already have a resume somewhere, oh yes, the one you did in 12th grade, so this should be a snap to update. If you find yourself in this situation, which many students do, please call and schedule a time to come and meet with us, your personal career consultants here on campus.
A high school resume is, well a high school resume, and as soon as possible you need to sit down with a consultant and take a look at your present academic status, collegiate activities, work history, honors and awards and start anew. There is nothing more frustrating to both you and your career consultant than to realize that you are in your senior year with limited to no activities, volunteer work, internships or work experience. Or perhaps you have been active, but have no idea of all the activities you have been involved in over your college years. Don’t let this happen to you. Resumes are so vital to your future success that the University has Career Center staff available to help you get started with a resume and even complete the process. We just hope you will drop by early in your college journey and take advantage of our service. Hey, we even have satellite offices across campus for your convenience.
